For many years we at Dynamic Earth have been big fans of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Schools Poster Competition. Each year we wait in anticipation to see who the lucky winners are and we really enjoyed seeing the fantastic variety of all the entrants which were on display at our neighbours the Museum of Childhood.
This year we are a bit more excited than usual for this competition because the exhibition which features over 170 entries from all across Scotland will take place right here at Dynamic Earth. We will have the winners, the runners up, regional winners as well as shortlisted entries on display right through until August 29th.
This week we heard that the regional winners have been announced. One lucky boy from Harris, ten year old Thomas MacAskill from Sir E Scott School in Tarbet won for the Highlands and Islands with his poster. We think this is fantastic!
On the morning of the 24th May we will be unrolling our red carpet for the awards ceremony featuring lots of special guests to host kids from all across Scotland. The lucky overall winner will be announced and their entry will be created as the official poster for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and will be used on mugs, t-shirts and other merchandise.
Keep an eye on our facebook page for pictures of the award ceremony!
