The Penguin Counters - Special ShowDome Event

Attention all penguin lovers! Have you ever wondered who keeps an eye on all of our penguins? Or how we know how many there are on Earth? Well, wonder no longer, because we have the perfect special ShowDome event just for you!

On 19th and 26th July, we’ll be showing an exclusive screening of The Penguin Counters, a cinematic experience that focuses on the research work of Ron Naveen and his team in Antarctica.

Ron has been visiting Antarctica for more than 30 years and, believe it or not, has the brilliant (and challenging!) job of counting hundreds of thousands of penguins! Our world is always changing and evolving so Ron’s team tracks the impact that climate change and ocean health are having on our penguin populations.

Whilst some species are doing just fine, others are declining and it’s up to Ron and his team to find out why.

The Penguin Counters will take you on a journey to some of the harshest, coldest and most extreme corners of our planet and you’ll also be given a peek into some of the world’s most remote penguin colonies.

Climate change is already having a big impact on our planet and Ron’s research will help us to discover how penguins can help us humans understand the true effects of climate change, and most importantly, the ways in which we’ll have to adapt.

Tickets cost £6 for adults, £4 for concessions and are FREE for Explorer Pass Holders.

Book your tickets now!
