Visit Dynamic Earth as often as you like with an Explorer Pass

There’s so much to see and do at Dynamic Earth for the whole family – why visit just once? For less than the cost of two visits, you can upgrade to an Annual Explorer Pass.

This means you can visit as many times you like for a whole year! Every week if you like! You can enjoy special themed events, evening screenings of our Dome films and you’ll be the first to hear our exciting news and updates.

And, what’s more, you’ll receive exclusive discounts in our Food Chain Café and Natural Selection gift shop – not to mention money off when you book children’s birthday parties.

Here’s the list of everything you’re entitled to:

  • Free entry to Dynamic Earth for one year
  • Priority Queueing
  • E-newsletters throughout the year
  • Exclusive invites to evening events
  • 15% discount in the Natural Selection Gift Shop
  • 10% discount in the Food Chain Café
  • Discounts on birthday parties (birthday child goes free)

The Explorer Pass costs just £29 for adults (16+), £18 for children aged 4-15 and £25 for students and Over-60s. We think it’s great value and we think you will too.

With the school summer holidays fast approaching, you’ll no doubt be looking for things to do to keep the kids occupied. We can help!

If you’ve never visited before, here’s what we’re about. Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh is the only visitor centre in the UK dedicated to telling the life story of planet Earth.

Expect cutting edge technology and state of the art interactive displays before being transported hundreds of millions of years back to the very beginning of time.

You will fly across glaciers, feel the Earth move beneath your feet and experience the chill of polar ice. – All this before embarking on a 4D adventure across the globe before you crash land in a tropical rainforest.

Throughout the year 360 degree films will be featured in our ShowDome, the only one of its kind in Scotland.

And, what’s more, we run lots of exciting events and exhibitions that are free with your Explorer Pass.

With experts forecasting a heatwave this summer, Dynamic Earth will be keeping our visitors cool with a host of polar themed events for the whole family to enjoy.

From 1st July – 27th August we’re inviting youngsters to become polar explorers and see if they have what it takes to withstand the harsh environments of the poles through a range of interactive demonstrations and activities.

With the help of our much-loved green screen photo booth, visitors can dress up in genuine polar explorer kits and take a trip to Antarctica with some cuddly penguin pals. Photos from the booth will be uploaded to the Dynamic Earth Facebook page for our visitors to share with friends.

Visitors can also take part in our daily interactive family shows exploring the difference between the Arctic and Antarctic. Visitors can also get crafty with our polar themed arts and crafts tables.

All polar activities are free with entry to Dynamic Earth and run from 10am-4pm.

We’re also hosting the Fringe Schools Poster competition. See the vibrant world of the Fringe through the eyes of school children from across Scotland at this free exhibition. The exhibition showcases the creativity of children from every corner of Scotland and celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of the Fringe.

And, finally, in August, we’re a Fringe venue! Settle back in a comfortable seat for a real full dome cinematic treat. Each night we’ll be showing a combination of two 30-minute films. Experience films as you’ve never seen – or felt them – before. All free for Explorer Pass holders!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Hi, I signed up to an explorer pass today, and despite its being listed as a benefit and the gentleman at the till saying it had been deducted we did not receive a discount in the cafe! We actually made two purchases in the cafe, and it was the same both times! Not sure if there's anything we can do about it now as we didn't realize until we checked the receipts but not too impressed.
