As a charitable trust, our education programme is core to our mission. We provide structured, recently inspected* and highly recommended workshops, indoors and out, linked intrinsically to Curriculum for Excellence and supported by 14 immersive, multi-sensory galleries and our Showdome.

Design your Experience
To meet specific experiences and outcomes with an interdisciplinary approach across a broad range of Science, Social Studies, Health and Wellbeing and Technology subjects choose from one of over 20 indoor workshops and outdoor learning experiences. The recommended time for indoor workshops is 50 minutes, 120 minutes for outdoor learning.
For an interdisciplinary encounter choose our gallery tour (recommended time 90 minutes).
Throughout the year our Showdome will be presenting a range of immersive and dramatic curriculum linked films from Supervolcanoes to Wildest Weather (30 minutes)

With our feet firmly rooted in the adventurous Earth and environmental sciences, we at Dynamic Earth are embracing the opportunity to take you and your pupils on an exploration of our very own local wild space! Overlooking us is the extinct volcano of Arthur's Seat with its crags, rare flora and dominating presence; what better place to inspire and motivate young people with relevant, challenging and engaging curriculum linked activities, managed and led by our experienced outdoor leaders?
For more information just click here (all outdoor workshops are 2 hours long but the vagaries of the Scottish weather may dictate a shorter activity on the day).
Teacher Continued Professional Development
We know it's not just about the pupils and so we offer the opportunity for you to develop or refresh your own skills. Classroom based activities can be delivered either at Dynamic Earth or in your school. Minimum numbers do apply and workshops are 2 hours long.
Choose from Creative Science, exploring the importance of creativity within the sciences and Lets Talk, a workshop full of hints and tips for you to give to your pupils to encourage effective communication. All our outdoor workshops can be delivered as CPD courses and any of our core workshops can be tailored to you and your skill set to refresh and update your own knowledge.
For more information on our CPD courses just e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
