Here at Dynamic Earth we love the opportunity to showcase all that the centre can offer but we also understand that sometimes coming to us is just not an option and with this in mind we now have a dedicated outreach programme. For further information on any of the outreach activities simply contact us on 0131 523 1207.
With thanks to funding from the Robertson Trust, Dynamic Earth is taking a new outreach programme across the length and breadth of Scotland throughout 2017. Our Extreme Environments outreach programme is touring schools and family activity days as part of Scottish Science Festivals throughout the year, taking science shows and drop-in activities on the themes of Polar Environments and Astrobiology to communities all over Scotland. Look out for us at the following festivals throughout the year:
- Edinburgh International Science Festival
- Shetland Nature Festival
- Caithness International Science Festival
- Orkney International Science Festival
- Dumfries and Galloway Science Festival
- Aberdeen Science Festival (TechFest)
- The Scottish Borders Science Festival
- Festival of Museums (Dunbar)
Please contact the festival organisers if you would like to book in with us, and check individual festival websites and brochures for listings of activity we’re contributing to in each location.
Dino's Dynamos goes on the Road
With thanks to the generosity of a private sponsor, Dynamic Earth’s fantastic children’s club Dino’s Dynamos is going on the road. We are excited to be able to offer a limited number of fully funded outreach workshops to selected afterschool clubs across Edinburgh and the Lothian’s.
There are 4 great workshops to choose from which all include a make and take craft activity. Workshops last an hour and a half, are suitable for children aged 6 – 14 and have a maximum capacity of 20 per workshop.
If you would like more information, to find out whether you qualify or to book a session please contact Anna Danby on 0131 523 1207 or firstname.lastname@example.org
